Is StitchFix right for you?
Even though I have a background in fashion styling, I thought why not give StitchFix a try. Everyone's been asking how I like it. The truth is I was very disappointed with my first and only box. They stripped away my personality and made me "basic". It just wasn't for me. They sent me a striped cold shoulder tee (which I already have one like it from last year), grey jeans, a blah blouse, a mustard yellow purse and a overpriced polka dot blazer. It would be cool if I was a middle school teacher, but I'm not.
The entire box total was almost $300 all for things that really have no place in my lifestyle or closet. Since I didn't buy anything I got charged a $20 styling fee. I'd say order five items from your favorite store with free shipping.
I like the concept of the box subscriptions but this fell short of my expectations. I just don't think that they are able to collect enough information about a person to really know what their style is truly like. I'd say save your money or perhaps try another service like DailyLook or Le Tote. I personally haven't tried them yet, but would opt for another fashion box company over this one.
